to act sustainably in your workplace.

some advice

We are increasingly encouraged to participate in environmental protection at home through simple actions. But it is also possible to act every day in our workplace. Here are some tips to make your company greener… and reduce your energy consumption.

Long live trees…

An employee uses an average of 75 kilograms of paper per year, which is approximately equivalent to two trees… Yet, there are solutions to reduce your ecological footprint:

  • Print only necessary emails and web pages. Copy-paste! Bookmark! Print to PDF!
  • Set default printing to double-sided.
  • Use recycled paper.
  • Recycle used paper.

Don’t waste your energy…

To significantly reduce your electricity consumption, remember to turn off lights when leaving a room or when daylight provides sufficient illumination in your workspace.

In summer, use fans rather than air conditioning, which consumes a lot of energy.

Save Hungary…

Devices on standby account for nearly 10% of a company’s electricity consumption. On a European scale, this corresponds to the consumption of a country like Hungary. Therefore, it’s important to turn off your screen, printer, or scanner when they’re not in use. This also applies to the coffee machine, which in one day of standby can consume the energy needed to produce twelve cups of coffee.

A monitor with a screensaver uses almost as much electricity as when it’s in use, so make sure to configure its shutdown with an appropriate duration (in Windows: ‘Power Options’ in the ‘Control Panel’).

Coffee break…

3.2 grams of oil equivalent are needed to manufacture a single plastic cup. Therefore, consider bringing a mug that you can wash and reuse for your next coffee breaks.

Move differently…

To get to your workplace, consider using greener and more economical public transportation instead of driving alone. Practice carpooling with your colleagues or through online matchmaking websites. Finally, for short distances, cycling is a particularly suitable means of transportation.
